Parents,
This morning we noticed an odor of smoke in the cafeteria. As a precaution, we evacuated the building and had the fire department investigate. The source was quickly identified as an exhaust fan motor. There was no active fire. The power was cut to the fan and the fire department cleared us to return to the building. 
The students and faculty did a great job following our fire evacuation plan and we were complimented by the fire department on our quick and orderly exit from the building.
Know that the safety of your children is a top priority and the regular drills we conduct prepared them for incidences like this one.
