Homeowner Maintenance of Septic System Class

A Homeowner Maintenance of Septic System Class is scheduled for Wednesday, September 18 from 8:30am - 4pm at the Guadalupe County AgriLife Extension office at 210 E. Live Oak Street, Seguin.

This class:
  • Is free, and you only have to take it once—not every year.
  • Will certify you to maintain your aerobic septic system in Guadalupe County without the requirement of a maintenance contract with a provider (and possibly other counties, but please check with your county first before attending).
  • Will provide you with the training that you will need to do your quarterly maintenance checks.
  • Will provide the form you will be required to submit to the County Environmental Health office on a quarterly basis.
  • Will not certify you to maintain anyone else’s system.
We will break an hour for lunch, and lunch is on your own. You can bring your lunch and eat in the meeting room or go offsite.

Registration is now open for the first-ever Fall Geronimo and Alligator Creeks Clean Up Event scheduled for Saturday, October 19.
  • 9:30 am start time
  • All volunteers will meet at the Irma Lewis Seguin Outdoor Learning Center
  • Light breakfast items, coffee, juice, and water will be available
  • Clean up supplies will be provided (bags, pickup tools, and gloves)
  • Come help us clean up the roadsides that drain to the creeks, as well as, along portions of the creek banks
  • Click here to register online
  • This is a great way for students to get community service hours
We are not seeking financial sponsors for this event, and as a result, we will not be providing the special event T shirts that we always have with the spring clean up event.

This is a great opportunity to make a positive difference in cleaning up the area and we hope everyone will be able to participate!
