In business, as the saying goes, "it's not always what you know, but who you know," which is why it's good to form connections as early on in your career as possible. But it's not always that simple, is it? Walking up to people you don't know can be daunting, and fostering blossoming work relationships can be a time-consuming endeavor. But here's why it's important to do it: you never know what connection could be the spark that ignites (or reignites) your idea, company, or career. So take a chance, put yourself out there, and be confident when you hand them that business card you spent hours making sure was absolutely perfect. You never know what could happen. But remember: the best career connections are the ones that are mutually beneficial. If and when the time comes to use their help, be ready to one day return the favor.
This week we're excited to be welcoming Jen Jordan for the second meeting of our Female Entrepreneurs' Circle as she goes into detail about how to successfully build a network and use it to your advantage.
