Flagler College remains closed as Hurricane Dorian approaches the coastline

Tuesday, Sept. 3, 10:30 a.m.

Flagler College continues to monitor the track of Hurricane Dorian as it makes its way along the Florida coastline. The College remains closed and classes canceled until campus and government officials deem campus safe for students and employees to return. The impact of the storm on our campus and city is still unknown, so we are currently unable to announce a reopening date. As that information becomes clearer, we will communicate with you so you can prepare your travel arrangements.

What you need to know:

  • Classes have been cancelled until further notice. You will receive notification later this week to update you on plans to reopen campus and return to classes.
  • Students, faculty and staff will not be allowed to return to St. Augustine or the campus until authorized by county Emergency Management Officials, and college officials determine the campus is safe and normal operations have resumed. The College will communicate any possible changes to reopening as soon as information is available.
  • We understand changes in reopening the campus may complicate efforts to return. Any class absences due to the storm will be counted as excused absences, and these absences will not be counted against your overall class attendance.
  • St. Augustine remains under a Hurricane Warning and mandatory evacuation of Evacuation Zones A and B. If you are uncertain of you zone, visit http://www.gis.bocc.co.st-johns.fl.us/MYEZ/to check your address.
