Turning Points for Children Presents:
A Women's Empowerment Luncheon
OUR VISION: Turning Points for Children envisions a thriving community for all.
MISSION: Turning Points for Children brings social and health services to vulnerable people. Our work is built on the foundations of wellness, safety, diversity, and collaboration. We believe in the power of resilience and possibility.
We invite you to hear from Dawn Holden Woods, CEO of Turning Points for Children about the power of passion and purpose, followed by our dynamic panelists and their personal stories and passions.
We should solve the problems we can solve" is something the CEO of Turning Points for Children, Dawn Holden Woods, constantly says-- it is her purpose and her passion. Of the 1,000 young people who exit foster care in Philly every year, about 300 struggle with no supports or resources. In 2014, Woods knew that was a small enough number to fix and started looking into how to solve this problem. “If you’re going to be successful with 17 to 22 year olds, they need to drive the plan,” she said. A colleague told Dawn about YVLifeSet— a national, research based program from Tennessee which shares the same youth-first philosophy—and two years ago she brought it to Turning Points for Children. Since then, we have kept 119 young adults from being homeless.

We believe in the power of purpose and passion. Join us as we highlight our mission and hear from our panelists about their own passions and purpose during our Women’s Empowerment Luncheon.
