Sharing the Torch: Mobilizing Across Generations, October 11, 2019, from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm.
This event brings academic and community partners together to explore concepts related to health equity and social justice, with an emphasis on why and how community engagement and research collaboration are effective practices for improving public health and building stronger communities.
This year the discussion will focus on working across generations to achieve these goals. The featured speakers are

- USA Discussion Facilitator: Joel Billingsley, Ph.D., Associate Professor and Co-Creator of the film “Mobile in Black and White”
Who Should Attend? Undergraduate and graduate students, community members, faculty, organizations & community/neighborhood leaders, volunteers, faith-based leaders and organizations, health advocates, researchers, consumers, grass-roots organizers, local funders, and others from across the Deep South region are encouraged to attend.
