Join us as we celebrate the independence of 18 Latin American Countries in grand fashion with live music, traditional dance performances, a parade of flags, activities for children like inflatable bounce houses, and fun activities for the whole family!

Latino Heritage Parade and Festival
Saturday, October 19 - 10:00 a.m. to
4:00 p.m.
Villa-Parke Community Center, 363 E. Villa St.

Come celebrate and experience the cultural richness and warm community found at the Latino Heritage Parade and Festival with live entertainment, cultural arts, community resources, educational opportunities, and much more! Food available for purchase.

The parade begins at the intersection of Los Robles Avenue and Prescott Street, heads south on Los Robles Avenue and culminates at Villa-Parke’s Multi-Purpose Field where the festival will be held from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Early Care and After School Adventures Program

The Early Care and After School Adventures Program provides affordable, flexible and convenient before and after school childcare at 12 PUSD school sites. The program includes homework help, fitness, sports, and fun, age-appropriate enrichment activities like science projects and cooking. 

Applications currently being accepted for the scholarship wait list. Scholarships are awarded to qualified applicants on a first come, first served basis. Application and proof of restricted income required. Scholarship applications can be completed in person at Central Park Center, 37 E. Del Mar Blvd. or online by clicking here: https://bit.ly/2IWd1s7.

Adventures Cheer & Dance--Register today!

Adventures Cheer and Dance is a fun, high-energy season of learning the fundamentals of cheer and dance and consists of weekly practices, cheer clinics, performances at games, activities and special events, and a final exhibition. Participants receive a uniform and a participation award at the end of the season. 

  • Dates: August 26, 2019 – April 14, 2020
  • Time: During After School Adventure Programming 
  • Locations: After School Adventures Program Sites: Jackson Elementary School, Madison Elementary School, Willard Elementary School, Jefferson Elementary School, San Rafael Elementary School, Longfellow Elementary School, Webster Elementary School, Don Benito Elementary School, McKinley Elementary School, Field Elementary School, Victory Park Center, and Hamilton Elementary School.
  • Grades: K-8
  • Fee: $75
  • Must be registered in the After School Adventures Program to participate.

Scholarships are available through the City’s Passport to Fun! Youth Scholarship Program for soccer, flag football, basketball and volleyball. Applicants must meet low income requirements and reside in Pasadena or attend a Pasadena Unified School District school. Scholarships cover 50% of registration fees and are awarded on a first come, first served basis until all funding is exhausted.

Highlights

Thanks for a great summer!
We had a great summer full of camps, aquatics, Parks After Dark and lots of fun! Summer programming served over 5,000 participants including youth pictured here at the Villa-Parke Non-Contact Boxing Camp. We're looking forward to another great summer next year so stay tuned in the upcoming months for information on Summer 2020 programming and registration dates.  

Congratulations to Team Pasadena's Roger Garcia! 
Congratulations to local teen boxer Roger Garcia for his fifth consecutive win at the annual Duarte Boxing Show on August 17, 2019.  Garcia trains hard and his passion, dedication and commitment will continue to take him far. Three cheers for another great result for Team Pasadena!

Rent a park or facility in Pasadena for your wedding, birthday party, bridal shower, or other special events! There are numerous places to rent and the prices can't beat. We also have park pavilions/shelters that are great for barbecues and provide a variety of wonderful views and amenities.
