Supporting Families Changing Futures 2019-2023

The Queensland Government has recently released Supporting Families Changing Futures 2019-2023 – The Queensland Government’s plan for helping Queensland children, young people, parents and families experiencing vulnerability, a five-year whole-of-government strategy for the final stage of the 10-year child and family reform program.

This plan builds on the strategic direction published in the Supporting Families Changing Futures: 2018 Update and outlines the priorities for the final stage of the reform program.

Grants: Tackling Tough Times Together to tackle drought

The Tackling Tough Times Together grant program helps communities access the resources they need to support one another through the ongoing effects of drought.

Grants are available for a broad range of grassroots, community-led initiatives that directly and clearly benefit local communities.

Round 15 is open now with some bands closing by 10 September 2019.

The Quality Collaboration Network meets monthly to talk all things to with the Human Services Quality Framework (HSQF) and they occasionally have a guest speaker. The next meeting on 18 September will include a visit from the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.

Event: MOSAIC Multicultural Festival

The MOSAIC Multicultural Festival celebrates the rich cultural contributions that all of us bring to our multicultural Queensland.

The festival celebrates who we are through dance, music, spoken word, visual arts and crafts, children’s and family activities, and delectable foods and cooking demonstrations.

Join the festival at Roma Street Parklands, Brisbane on 13 October 2019, between 10am and 5pm.

QCOSS: Leading change together

At the QCOSS 2019 State Conference Leading change together, QCOSS will be building on the conversations from their 2018 conference with people in communities throughout Queensland.

In this video QCOSS Board Chair Matt Gardiner discusses the benefits of attending and what he is looking forward to from the two days in Caloundra on 12 and 13 September.

The conference includes keynote speaker Mariam Issa who will share her perspective on leading change.

NDIS: Latest Quarterly Report released

The latest Quarterly Report released by the NDIA shows the world-leading NDIS has benefitted more Australians and from increasingly diverse backgrounds than ever before.

Acting CEO of the NDIA Vicki Rundle said the latest COAG NDIS Quarterly Report for 1 April 2019 to 30 June 2019 shows the strong progress the NDIS has made.
