Joyful Intelligence | Carmel Sayer
Official Opening | Fri 4 Oct, 6pm

Conceptual artist Carmel Sayer uses a series of installations to explore her notion of 'joyful intelligence'. What brings joy, what steals joy, how do these relate? Sayer's continued interest in institutionalised spirituality has led her to analyse the methods in which spiritual freedom is obtained.
To be officially opened by Kim Jameson, Executive Director Art On The Move, this solo exhibition is a culmination of research, investigation and concept exploration following Sayer's twelve month artist residency at CASM in 2017.

Exhibition runs 4 Oct - 3 Nov.  Open Wed-Sun, 10am-4pm

Artist of the Month | Lynn Kennedy

Mixed media artist Lynn Kennedy enjoys working with diverse mediums including epoxy resin, watercolour, oil and acrylic paints in her home studio. She equally enjoys time spent painting 'en plein air' and being influenced by light and the ever changing colour of the landscape. A highlight is Lynn's handcrafted, unique resin jewellery. Pop into CASM to peruse Lynn's new range and view fresh works by the CASM Gift Shop artists.

Your new arts festival is on its way

For the first three weekends of November, our city will be filled with the stories of our people, told through visual arts, film, music, dance, performance and the written and spoken word.

The program is almost finalised and we can promise that the new festival will transport us all to new lands and states of mind, bringing people to share and delight in our Mandjoogoordap, our meeting place of the heart.

Keep an eye out for more details in the coming weeks.
