Antidote for Spiritual 'Stuckness'
Rev. Kurt Condra
Known for its clever one-take videos, rock band Ok Go's "The Writing's on the Wall" is an inspiring reminder that our experiences depend on our perspective. In one scene, the camera pans a random-looking collection of junk until it artfully coalesces into a mirror image of bassist Tim Norwind. (Click pic to view full vid.)
I find it a comforting reminder that Divine Order is ever at play, especially if I'm stuck in a dark place or undesirable pattern. What I may be perceiving as chaos is actually the perfect expression of spiritual law. Like Ok Go's camera work, by shifting my perspective higher, the perfection in the situation is revealed.
Mix in a prayer of gratitude and it's essentially how Jesus fed the 5,000: "Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves."
All we need to bring forth divine solutions is already at hand. The writing's on the wall, provided we position ourselves to see it rightly.
