Resources available from the 2019 Summer Institute on Implementation Science
The National Implementation Research Network at the Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute and the Jordan Institute for Families in the School of Social Work hosted the second annual UNC Summer Institute on Implementation Science on June 10-12, 2019 in Chapel Hill, NC. Resources and videos of plenaries are now available online.

Implementation Science Communications is now accepting submissions
Implementation Science Communications, an official companion journal to Implementation Science, is a forum to publish research to foster the uptake of evidence-based practices and policies that affect health care delivery and health outcomes in clinical, organizational, or policy contexts.

Call for Input: Unpublished studies and reports focused on scaling up of effective social welfare interventions
Authors for a systematic review titled “Strategies for scaling up the implementation of interventions in social welfare” are asking for information about relevant unpublished studies and reports that should be considered. The primary objective of this review is to assess the effectiveness of strategies aiming to support the scale-up of social welfare interventions.

Call for Input: Experience working with consumer engagement in implementation
Researchers at the University of Arkansas’ Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System are seeking input from implementation scientists as part of a research study to develop guidelines on how to engage patients and other consumers in healthcare implementation activities. The study will assess current examples in the field and barriers participants in the survey have encountered. Consumers could include families, patients, and caregivers. Researchers are especially interested in consumers who experience health disparities.

Evaluation Conference 2019
November 11-16 – Minneapolis, MN

Hosted by the American Evaluation Association, the 33rd Annual Evaluation Conference will bring together evaluators, evaluation scholars, students, and evaluation users from around the world, where they are invited to assemble, share, and learn from the successes of the international discipline and practice of evaluation. The theme for this year’s conference is “Paths to the Future of Evaluation: Contribution, Leadership, Renewal”.

Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) National Forum

Society of Behavioral Medicine 41st Annual Meeting and Scientific Sessions
April 1-4 – San Francisco, California

SBM is a vibrant, multidisciplinary society focused on the role of behavior in improving health. Most of the country's most daunting health challenges have behavioral origins, and achieving SBM’s vision of “better health through behavior change” has never been more important. Training Opportunities
Online Certificate in Implementation Science  University of California San Francisco
This is a part-time program, offered during the fall, winter, and spring semesters, focused on theories and methods relevant to the design of strategies to facilitate uptake of health-related interventions. The courses and certificate program are designed for people from a broad range of professional settings who are currently engaged in the development, implementation and evaluation of strategies to promote and improve health and health care quality, including clinical and public health researchers, quality improvement officers, community-based clinic staff, public health and public policy practitioners, and clinicians.

APHA Learning Institute: Introduction to Implementation Science Short Course – Philadelphia, PA
This all-day workshop, held on November 3rd is offered by the Learning Institute of the APHA 2019 Annual Meeting of the American Public Health Association and organized by the National Institutes of Health, National Cancer Institute. The purpose of this course is to provide participants with an orientation to implementation science.

The Penn Center for Mental Health (CMH) at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine invites applications for post-doctoral fellowships. The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to support innovative approaches to identifying, understanding, and developing strategies for overcoming barriers to the adoption, adaptation, integration, scale-up and sustainability of evidence-based interventions, tools, policies, and guidelines.
