Exceptional Student Services

Public comment available for Extended Evidence Outcomes

Revisions to the Extended Evidence Outcomes (EEO), now aligned to the 2020 Colorado Academic Standards, are available for public comment.

The Colorado Academic Standards were reviewed and revised by committees during the 2016-2018 school years and revisions were approved by the State Board of Education in June 2018. As part of this process, Colorado’s alternate achievement standards, EEO, were reviewed and revised by a team of general and special educators from across Colorado during the 2018-19 school year.

The content areas in which the EEO are available for comment include: mathematics; reading, writing, and communicating; science; and social studies.

The online system is open for feedback until Monday, Sept. 30.

For more information and a link to provide comments, visit the Instructional Standards and Adaptations for Students with a Disability webpage.

Support & Intervention

September is Attendance Awareness Month

September is Attendance Awareness Month and a good time to remind families, students and communities about the importance of coming to school each day. Students who miss more than three days a month of school are at serious risk of falling behind their peers.

Come and learn skills and strategies for encouraging attendance at the National Dropout Prevention Conference, Oct. 5-8, at the Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Center in Aurora. Participants from Colorado may use code COED2019 to receive a 10% discount for registration.

Visit the Dropout Prevention and Student Re-engagement homepage for more information and a link to register.
