We would like to thank the amazing women of Giving Circle for coming out and volunteering with us at Koshland Garden. Over the course of the day we completed various tasks: weeding, pruning, removing bolting plants, and painting over the blackboard. We also pulled old plants and planted new ones for the new class year. The garden looks beautiful and just in time for the Fall semester!
We would also like to thank Giving Circle for their generous monetary donations to our programs and for volunteering their time for additional capacity building projects and events this Fall. We appreciate you all and thank you for giving back to our community!

Westside Court Apartments is a very engaging community with committed residents who are activating the outdoor shared spaces.
“Westside courts is a pleasure to have in the neighborhood. I play basketball there a couple times a week (super convenient), and people are always friendly. It’s nice to come home to a neighborhood with something actually going on, whether it’s people heading to a friend’s place for dinner or kids skateboarding and shooting hoop on the court”
a community members expresses. The community members reached out to CommunityGrows to help plant out the community garden beds and together we held a community planting day. Read More..

Backpack Giveaway!
This year, we had the honor of attending a working at the 10th annual Backpack Giveaway/Health Fair at Ella Hill Hutch Community Center. They partnered with many different organizations, schools, DCYF & Livable Streets and Sunday Streets for a free, fun filled event. We met many different people from parents, children, to teachers. We had the opportunity to speak to our community members about different opportunities they can use, as well as help them receive a free backpack with school supplies and a free book of your choice.

National Night Out!
National Night Out is a community event that is all about strengthening our immediate community, we encourage community members to ask the authorizes; police, fire department, and health providers; how they can help the community. This annual community-building campaign promotes community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie with the goal of creating safer and stronger neighborhoods. Many organizations attended the event and shared with the community about different ways that we help our community members. Thank you to Mayor London Breed, community members, and our emergency responders on attending the event.
