Casting Call for UMD Prevention Research Center Video

The Prevention Research Center in the University of Maryland School of Public Health, launching this fall, is dedicated to service, teaching, and research around issues of mental health among LGBTQ+ communities. Its mission is to eliminate existing social injustices and associated health disparities experienced by LGBTQ+ persons. The Center is committed to bringing awareness to these inequities, as well as disseminating data, validated tools, and best practices to improve access to quality mental health care and increase health and wellness for the community.

PRC invites UMD students from the LGBTQ+ community and feel that it is particularly important to showcase trans voices and experiences to be part of a video announcing the mission of the center and the importance of these issues. If you would be willing to be interviewed on camera about challenges you have experienced in seeking or utilizing mental health care, please contact PRC by emailing Kelly Blake at sph-comm@umd.edu or sph-comm@umd.edu to indicate your interest.

There is a small stipend for your participation ($100). You must be available for filming on Wednesday, 9/11 between 9-4pm. You will be contacted with a few questions for follow up. PRC will only be able to include 1-2 students.
