Here’s what’s happening in DC.
Has anyone else been staying up late watching the US Open? Same — and it’s putting a big wrench in our September plans. But while you sit on the edge of your seat during the Men’s and Women’s Finals this weekend, take a look at everything going down in the DC health and fitness scene this week.

🚲 Pedal Power
Catch that late summer breeze (it’s not officially fall yet!) on the rooftop of Cycled! in Silver Spring. The cycling studio is bringing back its member favorite rooftop rides this Saturday, and you’ve got four chances to get in on the action. Whether you sign up for the 9:15am class or sweat it out in the 12:15pm session, you’ll get your muscles moving all while a live DJ spins heart-pumping beats to carry you through. Trust us — you’re guaranteed to have a good time.

🥑 Bar Bites, Veganized
The city may be full of fast-casual stops for vegan eats, but where do you go for a fun weekend night out that caters to your plant-based needs? Now, you can head to Galaxy Hut in Clarendon. The retro bar with arcade games and constantly-playing VHS tapes recently revamped its menu so that every single item can now be made vegan. Try the Avocado Melt with chipotle aioli or a chili cheese Beyond the Brat. Either way, consider your comfort food craving satisfied.

🎉 Row It Out
The other week, we shared that the new Row House Alexandria studio was ready for you to check them out — and it looks like a ton of you have! So, the rowing studio is keeping the momentum going with an official Grand Opening party on September 21. Swing by to help them celebrate with free classes, food, and even a motivational T-shirt contest.

🐾 Woof!
Seasonal salad mecca Sweetgreen just made it easier to have lunch with your best friend. Head to SG’s headquarters The Tavern in Georgetown (or go online) and pick up a bag of Plants For Pups, a treat bag of apples and sweet potatoes made just for your dog! Then snag a seat on any of Sweetgreen’s patios so Fido can enjoy his or her snack while you enjoy yours.

💪 Hustle Up
We hear the best workout in the world is coming to Clarendon! That’s right — Barry’s Bootcamp, the gym known for its treadmill and floor-based sweat sessions that use interval and strength training to burn and build, is expanding. There’s only one other red room in the DMV, so we can’t wait until this hardcore fitness studio opens up beside Ambar this winter.

😋 Fala-full Eats
Looking for a fresh, tasty lunch different from your daily salad routine? Farragut Square is where it’s at. Not only did vegan fast-food spot Leon just open up, but gluten-free and veggie-forward LebTav is on its way! The fast-casual Mediterranean kitchen will offer plates and platters piled high with tabbouleh and falafel, plus a hummus bar that we know we won’t be able to stop dipping into!

Calling All Music-Lovers!
There’s a new kind of food truck in town. But instead of serving up arepas or vegan Lebanese, it's offering concert tickets for purchase. Go-to music venue 9:30 Club just launched the mobile ticket office to bring you fee-free tickets to all of its affiliated shows — that means The Anthem and Merriweather Post Pavilion.
