Volunteers Needed for Ely Fall Fest Food Tent- September 28
Saturday, September 28
9:00 am – 4:30 pm
When - Saturday, September 28- 9:00 am – 4:30 pm. There are three shifts available; 9:00 am-12:30 pm, 12:00 – 3:30 pm, 3:00 – 4:30 pm. Can’t pull a whole shift? Grab a friend and split one!
Where - We’ll be serving in a tent on the corner outside the church.
What - The menu is Loose Meat Sandwiches, Walking Tacos, Hot Dogs, drinks, chips, etc. Volunteer slots out in the tent include acting as cashier, assembling food, getting drinks. Volunteer slots in the church include keeping food prepped and moved to the tent and monitoring our bathrooms.
The ask - This event is a great celebration for Ely and will help raise some funds for St. John. By volunteering you help not only the community of Ely but St. John. Please consider volunteering for a shift or splitting a shift with a friend.
Many hands makes for light work. Thank you for your support of St. John and the Ely Fall Fest.

CROP Hunger Walk
Sunday, October 6 at 1:00 p.m.
Help fight hunger globally and in our local community by joining us on the CROP Hunger Walk. St. John, along with other area churches, has been involved in this ministry for many years. We will meet at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 14, at the trail head in Ely City Park and walk to Ely Road and back.
Please consider walking or supporting a walker financially. Visit the Welcome Center or www.crophungerwalk.org.

Affirmation of Baptism Discernment Day Retreat
Sunday, September 22 from noon-2 pm
at St. John
All those 9th graders who will affirm their baptism this fall and their parents are invited to participate in this retreat. We’ll share a light lunch and then you and your parents will share some guided conversations around faith and faith commitments. We’ll also discuss details around Affirmation of Baptism on Sunday, October 27. Please RSVP to Pastor Brian at the church office by Sunday, September 15.
