Well Spent Leisure Time

How will you spend your leisure time during retirement?  Is there a hobby you are interested in cultivating, or a skill you are curious to learn? At the Activity Center educational opportunities abound, from discovering Mah Jongg, getting tools for Staying Safe at Home, to pursuing creativity through Painting.

BBQ Lunch

Thurs, Sept 19, 11:30 am

Comfort foods are in order with the coming of fall. Get your ticket for the fabulous Back-to-School BBQ Lunch! And invite a friend to come join you, because hey, who wants to spend time cleaning the house, and cooking?

Dance, Dance, Dance!

Tap Dance

A new Tap Dance session begins Wed, Sept. 11 at 12:30 pm, designed for beginners and beyond.

Community Dance

Come for an evening of dancing, socializing, and live music at the Eisenhower Community Center.

  • Drivers over age 55: Are you saving 10% on your auto insurance premiums? By taking a Defensive Driving Class you're eligible for an auto insurance discount. An 8 hour introductory instructional class is being offered October 8 and 9, from 6-10 pm. Register to attend Defensive Driving, or call our office.
  • Attention Volleyball Players-Get ready for volleyball to start up again in October. See the volleyball calendar here.

Medicare Education Week

Sept 15-21

Hopkins City Mayor Jason Gadd has declared September 15-21 as Hopkins Medicare Education Week. See the Proclamation here. In preparation for becoming educated about Medicare, the Metropolitan Area Agency on Aging offers counseling sessions prior to the Medicare Enrollment Period beginning in October. Sign up here for a Health Insurance Counseling session.
Tools for Staying Safe
Come to a presentation by Interim Healthcare's Director of Therapy on Thursday, Sept. 19, at 10 am to:
  • Gain deeper understanding of falls risk factors and techniques to lower risk
  • Learn socioeconomic impact of falls
  • Develop a "falls plan"
