The Ressies played well, but allowed Woodville to get two easy tries from an 2 man overlap out wide early on in the game. despite this, AURugby kept their heads up and stuck to their game plan of working the ball up in the forwards and then sending it to the backs to capitalise on the forwards hard fought efforts. In the second half AURugby were able to close the gap on the score board but just couldn't quite get the win over Woodville. However this was a dramatic improvement to last time we played Woodville in the finals and demonstrated what we can achieve.

Last time AURugby played Woodville they just managed to steal the victory and players went to this game knowing they could take the win for granted. With Woodville well versed in AURugby's methodical game plan they did everything they could to disrupt it, making sure that they had strong numbers around the ruck and would come up hard against our danger man Jack at 12. Like always against this opposition the difference between us was a few phase plays and a missed tackle, allowing our opponent to take the win on the day.

AURugby U23 Representatives
SA have an U23 team participating in the NRCII competition. Training Squad has been announced with final squad announced on 18th of September.
Well done Axel Sonnenburg and Jack Jenkins in being selected.

AU Sharks
Gay and Inclusive Team
The first game that the AU Sharks will play will be in the Purchas Cupas hosted by Brisbane Hustlers. These AU Sharks will be part of the Barbarians team.
We wish all the best to Cam Forster, Nate Gould, Ryan Cox, and Andrew Rusk playing at Purchas cup with Peter Stephen as Coordinator and Chris Neal in support.
All these players have really developed in the last few months under the coaching of Dan McDowell, with the entire AU Sharks team looking quite formidable and eager for the new season of rugby.
