09.2019 | Nature Adventure Guides Needed!
Did you know that Edgerton Park had close to 1,000 New Haven and Hamden school students visit last year?
EPC leads a free field trip where K-6 students encounter carnivorous plants in the jungle, prickly plants in the desert, and explorations in the park that help students understand the nature of greenhouse gases, a deep history of the area, and even a chance to feed a creature related to the dinosaurs.
We need volunteers — like you! You’ll get to guide children through the greenhouse, assist in potting up plants, and reflect on the amazing world we live in. There is no need for a background in ecology or horticulture. We have an easy curriculum model based on asking questions that help students explore with their own senses.
If you are interested in volunteering a small portion of your time, please email holtoncrew@gmail.com for more info. We have an easy sign-up system and a brief training for new volunteers. Trips are Weds and Fri, 10-11:15am, and a ton of fun. Please consider joining! — Kyle Holton, EPC Education Coordinator

09.15.2019 | Sunday in the Park
Thank you for making our 32st annual event a success!
We thank the many members of the greater New Haven community who volunteered their time and donations, the local businesses and organizations who generously sponsored SIP, and the performers and educators who brought the event to life.
For the first time, this full day of fun included food trucks and a beer garden hosted through the generosity of East Rock Brewing Company. Please visit our sponsors and thank them in person!

Perhaps the most exciting addition to this year's SIP was the dog parade! Thank you to the pet-parents, hosts, and judges who created an event full of side-splitting laughter. From "Best Pet Trick," to "Best Twinning," to "Biggest Heart," every dog was a deserving winner.
