Fall Studio Sale

            There are quite a few under-exercised garments loafing around in the studio. Just like me, they are still in pretty good shape, but if they don't start moving, their life span will be shorter! So, at this fall sale, all old stock will be priced at cost or lower, newer pieces at wholesale, the rack of certified pre-owned Ellen Hauptlis is full, and the $20 bin is overflowing!
            As for me, I got a fitbit - an aptly named gadget for me and my clothes, don't you think? They fit a bit, but are not tailored. Maybe some of you have one of these devices. Every so often it vibrates to suggest I get up and move for a while. However, my fitbit tries extra hard to get me to stop sewing and get out of the studio.
            I spend a lot of time carefully marking with straight pins where the buttons and buttonholes are to be placed on a shirt. When I sit down at the machine to sew only to find one or two of the pins missing, it makes me jump up and run around screaming! And where do I find the pins after I've stopped running and screaming? On the magnetic wristband of my sniggering fitbit!
            This certainly keeps up the aerobic and decibel level here in the studio, but slows down the creative process! I'm confident that my fitbit and I will soon come to an understanding and I'll be able to continue with the RescueWear pieces I love to make. Rest assured there will be a good selection this sale and more at the holiday sale.

It showcases the work of artist/designers from the formative years of the movement, 1967-1997. One of my moire pleated pieces from 1981 is included.
