The Lazarus Health Day will be held on the upper parking deck from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. to celebrate good health and kinship with our brothers and sisters in the homeless community. Come and visit, pray with our neighbors or help make hygiene kits. Join us for a special Lazarus worship service at 6:00 p.m. with communion. 
World Communion Sunday
Sunday, October 6, 2019 at 10:15 a.m. is our annual celebration of the global Christian church followed by an International Tasting at 11:30 a.m. WCS is observed in churches worldwide to celebrate our unity in Christ. We encourage you to dress in attire that represents your home culture. Bring your favorite dish to share at the Tasting. Our speaker this year is Dr. Frank Dimmock who is the Africa Mission Specialist at The Outreach Foundation and a member of NAPC.
If you are able to help set up or clean up for the potluck, please write ‘set up’ or ‘clean up’ on your connection card or contact Kim Goldsmith. 
Calling All Singers - Singers of all ages and skills are invited to learn Christmas music with the Chancel Choir on Saturday, Oct. 12.  A complimentary lunch will be served in Overlook Hall.  Questions contact Bryan Black.
Memorial Service - A Celebration of Life service for Jayne Ann Etchison Bass Stirling, will be held Friday, Oct. 11, 2019 at 1 p.m. in the Sanctuary with a reception to follow in the Overlook Hall. Jayne was a beloved member for over 60 years,  a Deacon of the church, treasurer of the Tri-Mu Bible Class, Director of the Cherub Choir and sang in the Chancel Choir. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made by check to North Avenue Presbyterian Church for the Music Fund in Jayne’s memory or be made online

Fifth Sunday Forum - The Reconciliation Task Force  team will be hosting a 5th Sunday Forum joint adult discipleship class next Sunday, Sept. 29 from 10:15-11:05 a.m. in the Broyles Ministry Center. Facilitated by Jane Hubbard, come and encounter a diverse panel sharing their stories of culture, language, race, and ethnicity celebrated in the NAPC community. 

The Young Adult Fall Retreat: Navigating Through Life Changes and Tough Transitions - You are invited to join us Sept. 27-29 for the Young Adult Fall Retreat at Woodland Christian Camp! Cindy Circle - The Cindy Circle aims to strengthen those ties between North Avenue people who find themselves in need of a support network. That need may have grown out of being single, retired, or an empty-nester--just some of the elements that can lead to isolation. The Circle’s goal is to create stronger ties through a variety of events. Download here for more information.

2020 Women’s Retreat Date Change - Mark your calendars now for the 2020 Women’s Retreat. We are changing the date and the location this year! Get away for rest and renewal in late March (hopefully with no threat of inclement weather at this later date) to the north Georgia mountains near the town of Dahlonega at Forrest Hills Mountain Resort www.forresthillsresort.com Payment plans available. NAPC New Church Directory (Oct. 24-27) - To celebrate our NAPC family and strengthen the bond within our congregation, we welcome you to be a part of our upcoming new directory. We need you to make our directory complete! We are partnering with Lifetouch for this important project. Lifetouch is providing the directory at no cost to our church. Every family photographed receives a complimentary directory and an 8x10 portrait.  For your convenience, all photography and portrait viewing will take place at North Avenue with no sitting fee. You will have a variety of poses taken and one pose will be selected for the directory. In addition to your complimentary 8x10, you will have the opportunity to purchase additional portraits on the day of your portrait session.  Be sure to take advantage of the opportunity to be professionally photographed. We are looking forward to seeing you in the NAPC directory.  Your photography session will take about an hour, during which time you will check-in, be photographed and view your portraits. Transition Discussions - The Transition Team is working to provide regular updates on the progress of the pastoral transition through monthly gatherings in The Crossing. Pastoral Nominating Committee and New Officers - On Sunday, Sept. 8, the congregation voted to approve the slate for the Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC) and elected the Class of 2022 Elders and Deacons as well as the 2020 Nominating Team members. Click below to download more information.

Prayer over our Transition - The Prayer Team invites us to continue to practice the discipline of prayer.  On Sunday mornings at 8:15 a.m. we engage the acronym, ACTS (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving and Supplication).  Spend some time each day this week offering a sacrifice of praise to the Living God who forgives our sins, supplies our needs and hears our prayers. 

  • Prayer on Sundays from 8:15-8:50 a.m. There will be silent prayer and directed prayer in the Library.
  • “Pause for Prayer” on Wednesdays at 2 p.m. Please stop where you are to pray for North Avenue through this time of transition.
