The Fall Semester 2019 is off to a good start: With 10%+ increase in enrollment, 29 engieering grantees from Al Ghurair Foundation, 10 State Department grantee girls from Afghanistan, 10 Presidential interns from 4 countries.
To teach, advise, and guide these students, AUI has this year 153 faculty, 114 full time, 49 internationals, and 48 Women.

The First Year Experience program provided the news students with a rich program covering new Students Orientation, seminar courses, and many events that took place around campus. This ensured a smooth transition to a new mode of study, a new life style, a new environment.
This semester alone, students will interact with 55 international students on campus representing 25 institutions from 6 countries around the world.

AUI continues to prepare its graduates with the personal and social skills they need for their future careers. It is important to note that out of the 2018-2019 graduating cohort, 90% were either employed or enrolled in postgraduate studies, 76% spent a semester abroad during their undergraduate career, demonstrating the international education and experience students obtain at AUI.

State Department Grantees
AUI welcomed 10 Afghan students as part of the Afghanistan Cooperative Agreement awarded by the US State Department through the Embassy in Kabul. The students will complete their undergraduate education at AUI over the course of the next 4 years, benefiting from the $1 million grant AUI obtained for their studies.

Al Ghurair Foundation Grantees
This year, AUI hosts its second cohort of the Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation for Education (AGFE) STEM Scholarship Program, one of the largest privately-funded philanthropic initiatives in education. Recipients of this scholarship came from 19 Moroccan high schools in 11 cities to take part in a five-week immersion program, which included intensive English and math courses.

AUI is pleased to advance its Presidential Internship Program this fall, appointing 10 interns from the USA, Belarus, Switzerland, and Nigeria to be part of the AUI community.
