Hello Everyone!

I want/need to address some concerns from today's meeting. We are ALL learning, whether we've been in this field of work for a long time or just entering it. Our norms are intended to make our meetings more pleasant, productive, efficient, and effective. I've noticed some norms being disregarded on today: People were talking over each other, disrespectful comments were being made, and not everyone was being treated fairly nor kindly. Our work is challenging enough and we should be supporting one another especially because we share a common goal. We can not expect clients to work with us when we cannot work with one another. I understand that agencies want to focus on their individual clients but all clients are ours even if they were not assigned to us because this is OUR community. We have got to do better. I'm holding everyone accountable, including myself. As a reminder, below are our norms.

  • Treat everyone with respect: We will express our opinions responsibly, focusing on the issues and not on personal differences, and speak both honestly and kindly.
  • Prepare adequately for the meeting and participate fully. We will have read, reviewed or examined pertinent documents, feedback, or simply assessed our own thoughts and ideas prior to the meeting.
  • Do not interrupt each other. We recognize that we all interrupt at times by mistake or to build on each other's statements. However, we will strive to allow each person the space to finish his or her thoughts.
  • If you have an urgent call to make/take, please step out of the meeting.
  • Start and end meetings on time and arrive at meetings punctually. Let's respect each other’s time.

Shoutout to ALL of you for everything that you do!!!!!! It is appreciated!

See you all soon!
