PCM Ministry Leaders' Annual Retreat
On September 7, PCM Monthly Ministry Leaders joined for our annual prayer retreat and ministry support. Beginning with Mass, the leaders then enjoyed a healthy breakfast, and turned their focus to their spiritual growth while being a PCM leader. Shared here are some of the reflections and inspirations.
Feeling uplifted by the story of my co-leader, who told me that before joining PCM, she would work herself up in a tizzy on the golf course with other college moms. Now she has a place to put her worries and learn to trust in Jesus.
Feeling uplifted when a new member told me how it helped her to be able to talk to faithful women about problems, and that it made all the difference to share these worries in a faith-inspired environment.
Feeling uplifted by how leading PCM has increased my own faith, and I see the blessings in the context of the theological virtues. Faith: increasing my own faith and bringing others to closer to Jesus Christ; Hope: Hope that our prayers can light a candle in the darkness of our culture and bring our children to the fullness of the faith; Charity: Building strong connections with other women through faith, and sacrificing time out of love for Christ and my neighbor.
As parents in transition, we pray to learn to take the mantle off of our backs and let others help with evangelizing our children.
Monthly PCM groups have started their new year of monthly meetings at their parishes, covering a chapter or two a month of Maribeth Harper's, ...And So We Pray. This book was written for us to address the issues/concerns of parents when their young adults leave, and the graces that come from praying to Our Lord and Our Lady. Visit our website to see if there is a PCM group near you!
Considering becoming a PCM Monthly Meeting Leader? We have resources and a training video on our website. Check us out and then contact PCM's Founder, Laurel, at Howanitz@aol.com for more information.
