"And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also."
2 Timothy 2:2

SEPTEMBER NEWSLETTER

The month of September was filled with a lot of great ministry, times of hardship and heartache, and many moments of great rejoicing.  It's been similar to a roller coaster ride.  We have held tight though the difficulties and enjoyed the thrill of seeing God work.

Pastor Win - Timothy II Director of Myanmar and Thailand
We rejoiced with Pastor Win, who had a very full month of ministry.  He spent time in Malaysia for a Discipleship Training Seminar from August 31st through September 7th.   Before that, he celebrated the 6th Church Anniversary of Fire Youth Myanmar at Sittwe Yakhaing State, Myanmar.   These are just a couple of highlights from his very busy schedule.
Fire Youth Myanmar Church Anniversary.
Pastor Win traveled quite a bit this past month.  Here he is at right with his son David and daughter, Elizabeth.
At the end of August, Pastor Win's  daughter Elizabeth, went with a team to Indonesia.  Pastor Win and Elizabeth are planning to be in the US in 2020.
Philippine Mission Trip
The dates are set for the Timothy II Mission Trip to the Philippines.  The dates are November 7th through the 24th.  Dave Betts plans to include stops in Leyte, Cebu, and Bohol.  Please be praying for this trip as they make all of their final arrangements.  Pictured (at right or above) is Pastor Bert Montillano in Cebu, Philippines.  He is sharing the Gospel at the Talisay City Jail.  The Team is excited to work with Pastor Bert again, as well as with the other Pastors on the various islands.
South Shores Church
On Sunday, September 15th, Dave Betts and Sandi Mahlow were invited to South Shores Church to share at three services and in four Sunday School Classes. This church is full of people with great hearts for missions and generosity.  They have partnered with the Timothy II work for more than ten years.
Northern Mexico - This month, Pastor Herminio Castillo, our Timothy II Director in Northern Mexico, ministered at three different funerals for people who are from his church.  In spite of the heart ache, he went and preached to the Tarahumara Indian tribe. They had another great outreach where they also served 300 plates of food and had many decisions for Christ.  Pastor Herminio said, "I'm making sure that I spend every second of my life serving God."
Philippines - Pastor Gordon Kalich  The entire Timothy II Team sends our condolences to the Kalich family in Tacloban.  Gordon passed away on September 11th.  Pastor Gordon and Emie hosted our Timothy II Teams through the years, and we have co-labored with them for more than 20 years.  Gordon felt called to go to the Philippines as a young Christian in 1992.  He met Emie and got married and this dynamic duo started over twenty churches and adopted eight children.  Emie wrote to say that she will continue the work and our Philippine Team looks forward to seeing her in November.  An End of Life Memorial was held at Leyte Academy Center Compound, Palo, Leyte, Philippines on September 24th.
Timothy II Directors and Timothy II Team Prayer Requests - Phil Mahlow, our Timothy II Vice-President fell and broke his femur bone on September 7th.  He has a long recovery ahead of him, so prayers are appreciated.  Please remember to keep Timothy II and Lavona in your prayers for continued health and strength, as well as their daughter Kimi, who is recovering from a car accident.

Our Timothy II Director for the Middle East and Spain really needs prayer as he has urgent financial needs for his children.  Please remember all of our Timothy II Directors in your prayers as many of them continue the work of God through hardship and in times of great need.  When I think of our Directors, I am reminded of the verse in Hebrews 11:38 where it talks about all of the affliction and persecution that men and women of faith went through and calls them, "Men of whom the world is not worthy."  Our prayer is that God will continue to give strength and encouragement, and that He will meet their needs.
