IMPORTANT NOTICE:

T
erm 4 dates are now 24 October to 5 December

Please note this change, thanks.
Hi everyone!

An apology from me -  usually I put the booking dates AND times up on the website.  But for reasons unknown :)  I only put the dates on the website. I did put 10am time in the newsletter, but not on the website.  This MAY account for why so many families jumped the gun and booked a bit too early ...  So my apologies to the people who patiently waited until 10am and missed out.  I will make sure the times are advertised more clearly for next term's bookings.

Most of our term 4 classes have been booked out, but still a few spaces left - take a look below ...

If you DIDN'T receive a booking confirmation/invoice by return email when you booked your classes can you please check your SPAM folder, and if it's not there, please let me know and I can re-forward this to you.

As always, I welcome feedback.  You are welcome to contact me on 0272209949 or email me at:  thehomeschoolgroup.co.nz

Looking forward to celebrating the end of our term 3 on Thursday.  See you there!

Rae

Any teens for LASER TAG?  Still a few spaces left.  Saturday 19 October, Laser Force @ Wairau Park.  All welcome.
Scroll down for details & booking.
Look at the entrant's packs (goodie bags) for the Tech Fair. These have been created & put together by a very hard working team.  Monica (sourcing the bags etc from the Resource Centre), Angela, sewing up some creative goodies inside, the "Crew" of Jacqui, Alody, Timmo, Eliza, Sasha, Andrew & Jess all busy creating thank you cards for judges, and packing the bags with fidget spinners (made by James Gilberd) and other delights. This all represents a whole heap of work, which is done with generosity and love for all our events - thank you so much to these amazing people!
Spring Festival, Tech Fair, Market Day, Talent Show - it's all happening on

Thursday 26th September

THE PLAN IS HERE ...
9:30am arrival for Tech Fair, Spring Festival & Market Day
10:00am judging for Tech Fair, Spring Festival
11:00am Tech Fair open to view
11:30am Talent Show
12:30pm (ish) Prizegiving
1:00pm Lunchtime!

If you have a MARKET DAY STALL, turn right inside the main entrance, and set up towards the library end or anywhere outside.  PLEASE NOTE, we don't provide any tables, so please don't turn up expecting to find one.  All our tables are busy on the day, so you will need to bring your own table/chair/blanket to sell from.
Set up any time from 9:30am onwards for as long or as little as you like.  Read details and book (if you haven't already) HERE

If you have entries in the SPRING FESTIVAL, turn left inside the main entrance, head towards the YMCA gymnasium and see Monica.  You don't need to book anything in, just bring your entry along with your 20c entry fee.  All the categories to enter are HERE.
Arrive with your SPRING FESTIVAL entries well before 10:00am
10:00am Spring Festival judging begins

If you have an entry in the TECH FAIR, head for the room behind the coffee shop to sign in and set up.
9:30am Tech Fair entrants arrival, set up and sign in.
10:00am  Tech Fair judging begins - entrants only remain in the room.
11:00am  Tech Fair is open to the public for viewing

TALENT SHOW
11:30am  Talent Show starts in the YMCA Gymnasium
(We're not quite sure how long the show will go for, thinking approx 1 hour? There will be a short intermission though)

12:30pm (or when the show finishes) Prizegiving for Tech Fair & cash prizes for Spring Festival will be held in the YMCA Gymnasium

The Talent Show is all about families having fun.
It's a no pressure, non competitive, safe, friendly environment for brave souls who have the courage to get up and perform.  It's purpose is to ENCOURAGE and inspire confidence.  Prepare to be delighted.

Due to the high level of response to the Talent Show and the number of acts booked, there will not be time (unfortunately) for me to sing  :)  But I AM looking forward to seeing the "FLOSSING GROUP" in action.  There will be a call, at the end of the show, for all the flossers out there to accept the flossing challenge, stand together and go for it.  Such fun!

1:00pm Everyone is welcome to stay on, have some lunch together - we might have some games out on the grass in front ...  We'll see what the weather is doing.  My plan was to bring the rain in on Tuesday/Wednesday so it would be all done and gone by Thursday, so let's see if that works!  :)

Homeschooling people out there - everyone's welcome for some end of term fun.  Bring your friends, bring your families.  There are 40 fabulous entries in the Tech Fair, lots of creativity & competitive fun in the Spring Festival, always amazing things for sale in our Market Days -  awesome talent & lots of room in the gymnasium to watch the Talent Show!

See you there ...   Rae :)
And speaking of lunch ...  Sheryl will be cooking the delicious Holy Moly sausages on the BBQ ($1.50 per delicious 50g sausage). This is Sheryl's own brand, made with 100% free range NZ lamb, beef and chicken - fresh garlic, ginger, coriander and homemade spices. Preservative free, gluten free, dairy free, Paleo friendly, Keto friendly.  Sausage packs available also ($13.50 for a pack of 8.

Annelli will be at our market day on Thursday selling jewellery and polymer kits (tools & other supplies).  If you're doing the jewellery class next term you'll need some tools. The polymer & jewellery kits will allow you to create your own magic at home!
The organisers of this end of term fun LOVE bringing this event to you.  We work hard to plan it and set it all up.  We also love clean up help on the day - all the tables will need to be put away, Tech Fair Room will need vacuuming, the big Gymnasium and the floor in the foyer (and down by the library end) will need sweeping.  So if you can lend a hand at the end, please ask Angela, Monica or Rae and we'll point you in the right direction! Thanks :)
REFUNDS - If you haven't collected your refunds for cancelled classes in term 3, please see me on Tech Fair day and I will direct you to the refund box.  Or if you'd like me to transfer a refund to your bank account, let me know.
