New Puente Property Remodel Started
|
|
Praising God for miracles. Still awaiting the final dotted i and crossed t -- but in August we signed the option to buy, paid the deposit and were given KEYS to the new property for our Puente Community Center. It's the same distance from UASD university & subway stations as our "old" location. YOUR prayers and giving have made this possible.
God planned the timing and brought strategic personnel...

Remodel project is well underway -- Shoreline Community Church team demo'd the kitchen, the laundry area and unwanted structure in the walled in terrace, cleaned up all the garden & greenery, and painted almost the entire building!
In process: installing cistern & water tank/pump, converting 1 bathroom to 2, new kitchen, & electrical - plumbing overhaul. Next phase: addl bathroom, patio roof. Want to help?

Uconexion Expansion
New students & universities in this fall season. At IMU event students received the baptism in the Holy Spirit along with new found passion to be intentional with friendships & share Christ on campuses in 7 cities around the DR. We have 2 graduates giving a year as Uconexion ministry interns.

Connecting with Communities
This summer we hosted a free hot dog feast in the park a block away from a partner church; we made slime for kids in housing projects and neighborhood gathering spots; we gave gifts to single mom's and painted their nails while their kids played games nearby; we taught guitar & recorder lessons, no-bake cookie classes, airplane making, coffee roasting techniques, and gave out school supplies to kids & teens.

All these strategies were ways to open the door and earn the right to be heard, so when we shared our stories of Jesus in our life, the kids, teens & their parents were open to hear and ask Jesus into their heart. This was possible in great part due to the NWMN teams who came & served with us. Thanks Open Life and Shoreline Community Church!
In the Brisal neighborhood, we saw 36 kids & teens pray to accept Jesus as Savior.

Worship Summit
Berly's desire to sharpen the focus on worship took action. Empowering local church worship leaders & bands to understand what is worship & how to utilize worship to reach the unchurched.
|

|
YOU sent 37 scholarships to help students attend summer camp. We maxed out capacity at 195 total attendees. Thank you for investing. The result was numerous first time salvations, recommitments, baptisms in the Holy Spirit, calls to ministry, and decisions to limit screen time & increase face to face connection time!
