Greta Thunberg Honored by Amnesty International 
Amnesty International presents Swedish teen Greta Thunberg with its Ambassador of Conscience Award for her work in raising awareness of global climate change. Thunberg founded the Fridays for Future Movement and has inspired teens across the world to take part in protests against climate inaction.

This is a weekly social mixer for locals, travelers, international students, and international professionals in Denver. This is a place to meet friends, learn about travel in Colorado and contribute to the travel community. Feel free to being snacks or drinks to share, games, and blankets for others to sit on.

Actionary Steps to Global Health With Hemp

September 18 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Her Many Voices Foundation (https://hermanyvoices.org) joins with the Posner Center to provide practical information on the ways in which hemp is revolutionizing international aid and development. Attendees can expect to leave with concrete steps on how they can use hemp in their international work as well as direction to resources for further information. Attendance is capped at 30 participants and they will provide a light meal, with hemp based products for attendees. So while this program is free of charge, please register!


German American Agricultural Technology Symposium

This day-long event aims to bring together innovators and investors from across the Atlantic to address the most pertinent questions in AgTech - inciting dialogue, exchange, and action. The Agri-Tech Symposium will take a deep dive into the importance of agriculture to both Coloradan and German economies, and continue with an Expo of New and Cutting Edge Technologies from Coloradan, national and international AgTech companies.

WORLDLY OPPORTUNITIES!

Homestay Opportunities!
WorldDenver is hosting homestay opportunities! Currently, they are looking for volunteers for these homestay opportunities:
Youth Ambassadors France (October 22 - October 31)
Professional Fellows (October 18- November 19)
Russia Open World (December 6- December 14)


Expectations for Homestay Hosts:

-Provide a welcoming home that is respectful of other cultures
-Treat your guest(s) like family
-Share your favorite cultural parts of the city and state 
-Provide a room with an individual bed & access to a shared bathroom (youth can share rooms, must have individual bed)
-Provide 2 meals/day Monday-Friday, 3 meals/day on weekends (dietary restrictions may apply)
-Transportation: Students will need to be dropped off/picked up at WorldDenver office;
-Professionals: public transportation to/from worksite placements, Monday – Friday

Homestay Hosting is a great way to travel the world without leaving your home.

Worldly Nonprofit Spotlight
 


Global Works International Community Service is an organization based in Lafayette, Colorado. They provide young adults and high school students with rewarding service, language learning, and adventure travel programs, which foster personal growth and promote social and cultural awareness for the participant and the communities involved. 
Students get to combine making new friends and fun adventures with meaningful service projects while living in small, friendly communities all over the world.

SSA - Summer Service Adventures: 2-5 weeks long, a group of students from all over journey around another country with experienced leaders and live with the locals.

CGT - Custom Group Travel: exclusive trips with schools, families, and other groups, any time of the year, it is customized to your needs and goals.
