COME HELP US CELEBRATE!
Friday and Saturday 10am-5pm

(That is September 20-21st)

Each year we celebrate our Anniversary with a big store-wide sale.

This year, all of our luxury hand dyed yarns and apparel will be at least 20% off!  You will also find hand-painted Anuschka handbags (make a great gift) and our line of wrinkle resistant Fridaze garments at 50% off.  And who knows, we may include some daily specials!

When you come in, be sure to sign up for our drawing to win a $75 gift certificate.
For our online customers, save 20% on Friday and Saturday using code YEAR4.

We've enjoyed every moment (well, almost every moment!) and thank you for your continued support.

(This sale does not apply to previously purchased merchandise and stock is limited.)

Tiny Ornaments with Fran Jepperson. Get a head start on your holiday decorations this year, with months left to make up an army of these sweet miniature hats, sweaters, socks, and mittens. Required materials are any and all of the yarns you have left from other projects, from fingering-weight to worsted-weight, in whatever colors you like. (We will be providing some too!) Bring in your leftovers, and appropriately sized needles in double points and 32″ circulars if you would like to learn or practice using magic loop.

This is a 1-session class and will meet Wednesday, 9/15, 5:00-7:00pm. Class fee is $25.

Writer’s Shawl with Carol Harrington. When one sits at a computer wearing a shawl to keep warm, what’s the most annoying interruption to your train of thought? The shawl slips off, twists around, goes cattywampus. The brilliant design of this shawl makes it a well-behaved, obedient companion. It lies flat, doesn’t move when you do, and snuggles in for the long run. In addition, it can be made in any yarn, is easy to do, and yet is pretty enough to wear to the ball. This class will teach the “anatomy” of the shawl, discuss design options, and get you started on your adventure. Yes, beads are possible. Yes, it can even work for men. Yes, it’s great for grandma, too. Materials are 3 skeins Copper Twist (88% Superwash Merino, 12% Nylon embedded with Copper, 50g = 218 yards) US 4 (3.5 mm) 24” circular needle, US 5 (3.75 mm) 32” circular needle, and 4 stitch markers.

This is a 1-session class and will meet Thursday, 9/19th, 5:30-7:30pm.  Class Fee is $25.00

Unknitting Lace with Emily McNeil. One of the most common phrases we hear here at the yarn shop from one frustrated knitter after another, is, “I was trying to undo a ssk (or a yarn over or a k2tog or what have you), but dropped a stitch and, well…please help!” Emily loves to knit lace and as a result has had to UNknit a lot of lace as well. Come talk about the issues that catch you up, the particulars of where to put your needle to unknit a ssk verses a k2tog verses a sl1k2togpsso verses a sl2k1psso, and a bit on how to “read” your lacework. Bring some scrap yarn in fingering- or heavier-weight in a light color, appropriately sized needles for your yarn, and lots of questions.

This is a 1-session class and will meet Thursday, 9/26, 5:30pm-7:30pm. Class fee is $25.

Papillion Shawl with Fran Jepperson. This project is dazzling, but don’t be intimidated! Papillon is done entirely in knit stitches, using basic wrap and turn short rows for the undulating color effect. The garter stitch drapes beautifully without any curling, and of course the fun of putting together your color palette is absolutely irresistible. If you can knit, count, and keep track of where you are in the pattern, you can do this one! Materials are 7 skeins One Foot Two Foot (50g each, 1 skein of 5 colors, plus 2 skeins of a background color), and a 32″ US4 circular needle.

This is a 1-session class and will meet Saturday, 9/28, 10:30am – 12:30pm. Class fee is $35.
