The Oklahoma City Community Foundation is bringing The Musical Swings, an
internationally-known art installation, to the heart of downtown OKC as a gift to the community in celebration of their 50th anniversary!
Created by Daily tous les jours, a Montreal-based interaction design studio, The Musical Swings is a new media art installation that offers a fresh look at the idea of cooperation, the notion that we can achieve more together than separately. Each swing in motion triggers different notes, all the swings together compose a piece, but some sounds only emerge from cooperation. The project stimulates ownership of the public space, bringing together people of all ages and backgrounds, and creating a place for playing and hanging out in the middle of the city.
The Musical Swings will be FREE and open to the public from 9am to 9pm beginning Sept. 20th and lasting through Oct.13th at Bicentennial Park on the east lawn of Civic Center Music Hall.

In a world of drag-and-drop, Factory Obscura has hand-crafted our own 20th-century take on the classic audio autobiography: a grassroots playlist of emotions inspired by the music that made us who we are. The result is a visual, auditory, and tactile art experience built just for you.
The unveiling takes place at a special VIP opening for Mix-Tape Annual Pass-holders on Saturday, September 21, 5pm -10pm. General admission begins Sunday, September 22nd, 11am - 7pm.
IGUANA MARGARITA EXPO
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 21ST

Iguana is hosting their 2nd Annual Margarita Expo! It's one of our favorite events, and this year we're ramping it up to a full parking lot party! Bartenders from bars and restaurants around the city will be serving their variations on our all-time favorite cocktail. This year, proceeds from the Expo will benefit Academia OKC.
Margarita Tasting Passes will be on sale for $10 each the day of the event. Pass holders will receive a wristband giving them access to margarita tastings sponsored by el Jimador Tequila. General concessions including Indian tacos, elotes, and other beverages will also be available, and Mariachi Orgullo de América will provide live music.
Following the Expo, Factory Obscura will host the VIP Opening Event of the Mix-Tape art installation from 5:00pm - 10:00pm next door at 25 NW 9th Street for annual pass holders. Learn more about Factory Obscura and purchase your annual pass here.

The Grand Opening weekend of the brand new Scissortail Park starts on Friday, September 27th with a ribbon cutting at 6pm with the Kings of Leon concert to follow at 6:30pm. The park is located in the heart of a revitalized downtown Oklahoma City. This public space is part of the MAPS 3 program that envisions a healthy and vibrant quality of life for our city while serving as an investment in the future. Every detail is designed for connection – with nature, neighbors and ourselves. It is a place for play, culture, celebration and inspiration.
The opening festivities will include a myriad of activities for all ages such as yoga, Zumba, pedal boat rentals on Scissortail Lake, local food trucks, a sports zone with the OKC Energy FC, OKC Dodgers and the OKC Thunder, participatory art installations with the Oklahoma Contemporary Arts Center, family day activities presented by Express Employment International, live music and dance performances and fireworks to cap off every night. All are welcome to join.

The Mesta Park Neighborhood Association (MPNA) introduced Mesta Festa in 1995 as a fundraiser to usher in beautification and improvements to a beloved neighborhood. Eat, drink, and be merry at Perle Mesta Park on Sunday, September 22 from 12 to 6 PM. Join the Mesta Park community and its time-honored traditions with an afternoon of fun. There is something for everyone with two urban beer gardens, live music, family activities, sand volleyball, and local artist and shopping pop-up booths.
