Funding Opportunity: Tech Development Center Initiative in Greenpoint
Rubenstein Partners Acquisition has issued an RFEI for a planned Tech Development Center Initiative in Greenpoint, Brooklyn to be housed within a broader mixed-use space that will consist of an approximately 90,000 square foot food manufacturing facility and approximately 500,000 square foot of office space. It is anticipated that a significant proportion of office tenants at the project will be established companies as well as early-stage and growth stage companies in the technology, advertising, media and information (TAMI) fields. With a significant concentration of technology, media, manufacturing, and other uses in the space, Rubenstein Partners Acquisition envisions an opportunity to help support entrepreneurship in Brooklyn through the creation of a technology development center for emerging businesses.
This RFEI is being issued in order to identify a best-in-class organization which can articulate a vision for cultivating and supporting a critical mass of early-stage companies while providing them with on-site office space and services which will include a combination of mentorship, training, networking, technology development, funding, ecosystem linkages, event planning, and other related support services which are key to the survival of early-stage businesses. NYCETC assisted in the development of this RFEI through. Questions to this RFEI are due September 22, and proposals are due October 12.
MOCS/OMB Survey: Feedback about Indirect Cost Rates
Have you heard that the City of New York is implementing an initiative to fund indirect cost rates for health and human service contracts, beginning this fiscal year? This means that you will be able to claim your indirect rate on current contracts and the City will reimburse you for it – even if that requires the City to add more funding to your contracts. The Mayor’s Office of Contract Services and the Mayor’s Office of Management and Budget have formed a City Implementation Team to establish new processes that will enable providers to claim their indirect rates and the City to approve and pay those claims.
To inform the City’s implementation planning efforts, the City has developed a short 3 – 5 minute informational survey. Results will be used to better understand how your organization is thinking about approaching this new opportunity.
