⬆️ Rise And Shine
There are already plenty of Sydney studios which already offer classes for you to row, run, box, or bike your way to great fitness — but how about we try cardio climbing!? Rise Nation, one of the hottest workouts from the streets of LA, is officially expanding Down Under! Victoria’s South Yarra has already been introduced to this killer VersaClimber workout, blending the multifunctional piece of equipment (that’s a lot like a space-age StairMaster) with state-of-the-art lighting and sound for the ultimate class-based fitness experience. Now, as of spring or early-summer, it’s Sydney’s turn to rise to new heights. More details to come!

🥛 Oatly In Oz
Get excited, Sydneysiders — Oatly has landed, and we have a sneaking suspicion it’ll be your new favourite in faux dairy. It’s already available as a mix-in at heaps of our favourite cafés, but now we can purchase their alt-milk range in our supermarkets. However, we’re more excited about what’s to come: their environmentally friendly, ultra-tasty international product range includes “oatgurt”, butter alternatives like oat fraiche and oat spread, and even delicious ice cream substitutes (in mouth watering flavours like Salty Caramel & Hazelnut or Double Chocolate Fudge!).

💡 Light The City
Light the City hits Mrs Macquaries Road this Saturday! For one night only, public roads around Mrs Macquaries Chair will be closed to cars and heavy traffic, giving runners and cyclists free reign of the 2.5km track. There are impressive artistic installations and lighting effects around the whole loop — including a rainbow path and field of beams to really spice up your late-night ride! There’s also a glitter ball arena and a silent disco so you can groove well into the evening, as well as loads of tasty food trucks on site to round out an unforgettable evening experience.

🍰 Egg Of Eveleigh
Did someone say FREE CAKE? We know we spread the word about the new South Eveleigh opening for Egg of the Universe already, but that day has finally arrived! Our favourite holistic wholefoods cafe/super-zen yoga paradise is officially landing this Saturday 21st! To celebrate the big event, Egg is offering free yoga all day and free cake with the purchase of any main meal — two perfect reasons to head west this weekend!

Hounslow Classic
If you’re up for a spectacular outdoor event, look no further than the Hounslow Classic in the Blue Mountains, kicking off next weekend in the stunning Northern Grose Valley. There’s an Ultra SkyMarathon (68km), SkyRace (21km) or SkySprint (10km) to choose from, all offering the most epic view of one of NSW’s most scenic national parks. The trails are not for the faint-hearted, and the rugged terrain is sure to take your breath away in more ways than one! Challenge last year’s top three or simply set your own PB — just make sure you give yourself enough time to stop and take in the scenery!

Optimal Humans Deep Valley Charity Race
Lace up your trail runners and get ready for an outdoor adventure— with purpose! Optimal Humans Deep Valley Race is short, fast, and steep, and it comes with a heart-warming twist: all money raised supports the John Maclean Foundation, which helps Aussie kids to get involved in wheelchair sports and athletics. The race itself is comprised of a heavy sandbag carry for 300m, followed by a run over steep and rocky ascent, some tough terrain, and plenty of twists and turns across the 6.4kmkm trek. There are elite and “weekend warrior” categories and thousands in cash prizes are up for grabs. Plus, the event kicks off with an invigorating yoga session, and spectators are welcome, so there’s all the more reason to head out to Duffys Forest.

Oktoberfest Is Upon Us
Munich Brauhaus down in The Rocks is hosting Sydney’s biggest Oktoberfest Street Party this weekend — and you’re invited! If you feel like flexing your competitive muscles, why not check out the range of traditional contests (think hot dog eating and stein carrying), or don your best lederhosen and strut your stuff in the best-dressed parade. One thing is for sure: bring your appetite because there are some SERIOUS dishes—and kegs—on the menu. Entry is free, but dining tables are limited, so reserve your spot today. Prost!
Eye For Design
200 stallholders come together across three epic days in this weekend’s Big Design Market. Hosted at the Cutaway within the Barangaroo Reserve, there’s ample space to find pretty much anything you could ever want. With stalls selling fashion, textile, jewellery, ceramics, tech, gifts, ceramics, stationary, and food, we challenge you to walk away empty-handed! It’s $5 on the door, but expect to walk out with pockets significantly lighter once you’ve browsed—and spent—to your heart’s content.
