Tricia Ebarvia is Co-Director for the Pennsylvania Writing and Literature Project (PAWLP), a site of the National Writing Project (NWP). She contributes to the “From the Classroom” column on the PAWLP website and to MovingWriters.org. Her writing has also been published in English Journal, Literacy Today, and Education Week. In 2016 she was named a Heinemann Fellow, an action-research “think tank” of teachers led by Ellin Keene. And in 2018, Tricia co-founded the anti-bias, anti-racist pedagogy effort #DisruptTexts with the goal of advocating for more inclusive and equitable curricula and pedagogies.

On December 5th, CTCTE hosted a "regathering" for members to experience the wonders of the #TheEdCollabGathering. Attendees were privileged to learn from Maggie B. Roberts and Julia Torres from their session, "Empowering Readers and Writers to Independently Seek Challenge." Their session is still available here
What are we reading?
Ocean Vuong's first novel is a New York Times bestseller and received the 2019 New England Book Award.  It is set largely in Hartford where Vuong grew up.
In the young adult category, the 2019 New England Book Award went to Massachusetts-based author Jarrett J. Krosoczka for his latest Hey, Kiddo.
