🚗 Ditch The Car
We all love a good holiday, and September 22 just so happens to be World Car-Free Day, a movement aimed at helping promote more sustainable means of transportation in cities large and small. So, this Sunday, do the Earth a solid by leaving the car in park and instead exploring the city by foot or hitting up some of Boston’s awesome bike trails.

🚪 Reviving Newbury
After a few cafes on Newbury Street closed this spring, we’re happy to announce Revival Cafe + Kitchen is set to open their third Boston-area location at 103 Newbury in October. They’re finalizing their menu, but you can expect to see breakfast served all day, featuring the Jimmy Pesto, an egg sandwich with spinach, feta, sunflower seed pesto, and pickled red onions. They’ll also serve lunchtime salads, soups, and sandwiches, plus a wide array of beverage selections. Fun fact: Revival was one of the first to incorporate CBD-infused drinks onto their menu, and they love getting creative in the kitchen, so get ready for an innovative experience for your taste buds.

🚲 Bikes And Brews
You can get the dust off your bike spokes ahead of World Car-Free Day and quench your thirst for delicious local beer at the same time! The Dorchester Bike & Brew is back for their 4th annual festival this Saturday and they’re ready to show off the growing cycling community. Here, you can chat about bikes, ride bikes, and drink some local beers and ciders. Be sure to bring your own bike to show up in style. But don’t worry about where to park it — there’s free bike valet that will take care of everything for you!

🍎 Fall Is Looking Flavorful
Who said ice cream is just for summer? FoMu is a year-round kind of dessert. And Boston’s favorite plant-based ice cream is getting ready for the new season with the drop of their fall flavors. As autumn-enthusiasts, we've been waiting all year for FoMu’s Apple Cider Donut and Caramel Pumpkin Pie flavors (the former made with real chunks of house-made cider doughnuts).

Boston’s 8th Annual Sharkfest
You’ll only find sharks (or “shahhks,” as they are affectionately called in our neck of the woods) in Boston Harbor for one day a year. Boston’s 2019 Sharkfest calls all experienced open-water swimmers to take on the 1500-meter swim across the harbor from Eastie to Southie. Don’t wait to sign up for this one-of-a-kind event — it will be capped at 800 swimmers!

Island Run 2019
In Boston, you don’t need to take a week-long cruise to get to an island destination. You can cruise around Spectacle Island for a family-friendly 5k or five-miler, then hop aboard the Provincetown II for a post-race party cruising around Boston Harbor.

L.L.Bean Flannel 5K
Fall is here, and what better way to celebrate than some flannel and a 5k? This day of fun kicks off with a run and winds down with some pizza and drinks — and while it might still be too warm to don your flannel, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to win some at the L.L. Bean after-party.

🍺 In Other News
Bring On The Beer
The Boston Public Market is pretty much the perfect spot for all your local shopping. But it was missing one thing after Hopsters Alley left: beer. Well, not anymore. Boston Beer Alley is officially the newest vendor, serving up their local craft beer, liquor, and ciders. This is the fifth Boston location for Boston Beer Alley, who specializes in hand-selected, hard-to-find craft beers and microbrews. So, if you’re looking to expand your palate, or want to sip on a New England favorite, this is the place to go.
Just The Right Bagel
Medford just got a little cozier with the opening of Goldilox Bagels Bakery. This gourmet shop boasts homemade bagels made in-house, with the exception of their gluten-free bagel (which they get from Woburn’s Something Sweet Without Wheat gluten-free bakery). They’ll also be serving up bagel sandwiches, all the spreads you can imagine, coffee, chai, and more. Hot Tip: keep an eye out for their pizza bagel offering, expected to appear on the menu in a few weeks!

Shoutout to @twist_of_lemons who recently became a certified PA! It’s one thing to have dreams but another thing to make them happen. Katie already has a Masters in Functional Medicine Nutrition to her name and has long been motivating and inspiring women (and men!) to prioritize their health — all while keeping her punny sense of humor. She’s changing the conversation around healthcare and, luckily, she’s here to stay.

@_n_dukes does it all and we’re impressed. He’s a DJ, co-leads November Project, creates community at lululemon, inspires the city of Boston to move and connect, and is challenging the norm. He’s always on the go with cool projects that create disruption by bringing people together. This is definitely one Bostonian you want to keep an eye on.
