INVERSUS is all about playing smart – even in Arcade mode. Climbing the leaderboards is less about staying alive longer and more about playing better while you are alive. That brings us to chain attacks. Chains occur when the explosion of one enemy blasts into a second enemy. This kicks off another explosion, hitting a third enemy and onward! At the surface, chains look like a great way to open space, but their real value is in earning points. Every hit in a chain gets its score multiplied.
Let’s walk through an example…
Imagine there are 8 enemies on the board and each one is worth 10 points. If you shoot them all separately, you’ll earn 80 points and spend 8 shots in the process. If you can instead gather them into a single chain, you’ll earn a whopping 360 points and only spend 1 shot! The first enemy you shoot is still a measly 10 points, but the second hit awards 20 points and the third hit awards 30 points – each new hit is worth more points than the last through the whole chain!
Hopefully this helps you get that next star and I'll send out some more tips and tricks down the line!
