What's been happening the last couple of weeks, you say <<First Name>>?
We had a lot of fun hosting boat themed creative sessions at the Classic Boat Festival in St. Katharine Docks.
We're nearly done with our creative sessions (tote bag design) for UCL Freshers week (thanks Wonderland for having us along), hosting classes in their student halls all across the City, 11 halls in total and 100s of students, it's been crazy!
We won an award (Best Art School of the Year from the London Prestige Awards) and were nominated for another one (The Travel & Hospitality Awards 2019) - WTF? Fingers & toes crossed.
The studio has been buzzing with lots of creative team building, hen parties and public classes too, so thanks for coming down. Lino printing, illustrated maps, calligraphy, pottery and tonnes more!
Jamie Temple - Horizon
Our lino teacher Jamie Temple has his 1st solo exhibition and it starts tonight (Friday 20th) in Deptford! It's in Art Hub Studios.
With a launch this evening and the exhibition and creative workshops running through the weekend. Click the link below to find out more.
Silk-screen printing As part of our series of partner events, we're also hosting a one-off special with Daniel Heath, on Sunday November 3rd 11am - 2pm.
Use the traditional art of silk-screen printing to create a unique artwork onto a plywood panel. Come along with an image you’d like to translate through simple stencils, or come up with an improvised creation on the day. Previous guests have printed everything from majestic whales to sultry lipstick smiles!
Daniel is a British award winning independent wallpaper, textile and surface designer renowned for his illustrative and engaging designs. Based in the heart of East London, the designer-maker has long upheld principles of craftsmanship and sustainable design through up-cycling and re-appropriation of authentic heritage materials.
We've a new how-to on lino printing on the M.Y.O YouTube Channel. New blogs up on creative team building (we run through some examples) and the creative activation we did at the Classic Boat Festival.
Links below, let us know if anything you'd like to learn about!
We've a new Festive page for group creative activities on the website (wreaths to jumpers!), check the link below. November and December are filling up fast with festive company socials in and out of the studio.
