UK Government announces it will reintroduce two-year post-study work visas

The changes will apply to international graduates in any subject. Much of the credit must go to the Prime Minister’s brother, former Universities Minister Jo Johnson, who championed the policy shift as a backbencher, but quit the government before it came to fruition.

New tool from Google to help tackle plagiarism....

With figures suggesting 1 in 7 students use essay mills or replicate existing work, Google has just unveiled a new feature, “originality reports.”

Students and instructors can run originality reports to check any written assignments done in Google Doc against the hundreds of billions of web pages, and tens of millions of books, that Google has indexed over the years. It will flag any text that appears to be improperly lifted or referenced without citation.

London named the world's best student city for the 2nd year running...

The city owes the accolade to its high-quality institutions, high levels of employer activity and student diversity, and its popularity among the global student body – all these positive features outweigh its lower rank in the ‘Affordability’ criterion in the QS Best Student Cities Ranking.

“The fact that London has again been ranked the best city in the world in which to be a student is fantastic news – and is no surprise given that London is home to world-leading higher education institutions and a vibrant cultural life,” London Mayor Sadiq Khan said in a statement.
