Quilt Shows, Patterns and Fabrics!
Exhilarating experiences always engender creativity and my most recent was Quilt Expo (now renamed The Great Wisconsin Quilt Show) in Madison, WI. Aside from helping plan and occupy a booth for the Madison Chapter of the American Sewing Guild, I produced and commentated a Fashion Show with models and their clothing assignments from my Creative Clothing Class's last year of assignments (September 2018-May 2019.) It is always thrilling to see what these talented women - and one man - can put together with my monthly assignments! More than thrilling, it's the information and inspiration that, for me, opens up new ideas and new excitement to create myself! Thank you talented students!
This year's class has just begun and the next cluster - three month section of the non-sequential class - for which people may register is December-February at the Electric Needle in Madison. Register for Creative Clothing
Blue Bar Quilts in Middleton, WI is where you will find my Design Classes now! Check out their website's list of classes to stay up to date on mine and other teachers' class offerings!
My favorite Vendors at Quilt Expo are Wendy Richardson's Quilt Tapestry Studio and Laura Murray Designs.
Check out this BEAUTIFUL piece of Burmese Silk I bought from Laura. This has activated my Creative Juices like crazy! Both Wendy's and Laura's websites will get your creative juices flowing, too!

Noren Ensemble from Grainline Gear
Noren, in Japan, are traditional split curtains that hang at the top of doorways and windows. Designer Ruth Vincent has borrowed the split panels idea for this ensemble including a Jacket in two lengths with split panels over two more layers in the back and splits in the sleeves at the wrist, a sleeveless blouse with inverted facings and reversed darts front and back, and pants split at the hemline. All have an Asian Flair and the jacket uses three coordinating fabrics.
