A reminder that entries for Series One and the Vekart Mercer River Race close tomorrow; Tuesday 24th, at 8pm. Memberships and medicals need to be completed and emailed to Alice by Friday afternoon to ensure they can be processed prior to racing on Saturday. There will be NO membership on the day.
Medical Declaration
Attached is the personal medical declaration form which needs to be completed by any new member that started after Mercer in 2017 please, as well as updated by any current member that feels the information on the form needs to be updated.
This form is held by Medical & Safety Consulting for the sole reason of providing important medical information should you require medical attention and not be physically able to pass this information on to the treating paramedic.
Series One
For Saturday we are at the Elbow reserve as per previous years. We would like at least one person from each team to be able to help us set the course more hands the better and the faster it gets done so we can get on with racing.
Scrutineering is from 7.30 am this is going to take a little longer than usual as this being the first of the season so if you can please be proactive and get a scrutineering form from the Bus and have all the details filled out before the scrutineers get to your boat.
Briefing will be at 8.30am (a few things to cover) with the first event for the season. First race ready to go at 9.30am.
All races will be SPRINT length.
Vekart Mercer River Race
A big thank you to Kevin and Tracy for once again sponsoring the Vekart Mercer River Race, it's great to have you on board.
Sunday this year we are running from Mercer Boat Ramp. This means that Masters/Novice and Subbies will start from Mercer travel down the river to Tuakau stop regroup then back down to the finish line at Mercer
There is quite a strong current at Mercer so you will need to have someone to help with launching and retrieving your boats and is only 1 at a time. If you would like to warm your boats you can launch at the Tuakau boat ramp 15 minutes from Mercer it is sheltered and is 3 wide probably a good idea for the bigger boats then just cruise up to Mercer.
Briefing for Sunday is at 9am, The first race; Masters, Novice, Subbies, is at 10am and for those who are not there on Saturday scrutineering will be at 8am.
Remember daylight savings starts Saturday night.
We are looking for course boats for the weekend. If you are able to help with this please contact Flex.
Health and Safety
The exec has worked with Graeme over the off season on the NZWSRA health and safety system. H&S is all our responsibility and please familiarise yourself with the policy and help ensure all our event days are safe. We all need to play our part.
Also, a quick reminder to familiarise yourself with the 2019/2020 NZWSRA Rules.
