Visiting Speaker - Derek Apawo
This Sunday we are excited to welcome visiting speaker Derek Apawo.  Derek and his wife Mavis currently reside in Leicester and have been married since 2012. They have two beautiful daughters whom they spend most of their time with.
 
Derek graduated with a degree in BA Hons in Political Science and Philosophy at the University of Ghana in 2003. He later studied for a Diploma in Exploring Faith with Glyndwr University in Wales when he moved to England. 
 
He worked as a Christian youth leader in London and Leicester after he felt the call of God to ministry.  
 
Derek was fully involved in Christian youth work whilst studying for a degree in Adult Nursing in Leicester.  He currently works at the Accident and Emergency department at the Leicester Royal Infirmary.
 
He and his wife have been pioneering for the planting of the Glorious King’s Church in Leicester since late 2018. Derek took part in the Global Horizons Leading Edge course in 2018 and is currently a participant in its 2019 Program.
MacMillan Coffee Morning
Saturday 28th September, 10am-12pm

On Saturday 28th September, 10am-12pm there is a Coffee Morning in the Workshop in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.  There will be coffee, delicious cakes, cookies and a play area for little ones. Please come along and bring your friends.
Monthly Prayer Meeting
Wednesday 2nd October, 7.45pm @ New Life

Please try to attend this important meeting.  In addition to hearing about some of the Revive (Rugby Churches Together), town wide initiatives we are involved with, Andrew Gray, the Church Treasurer, will be presenting information relating to our vision to develop our church building, so that we can know how both to pray and prepare ourselves for our Vision Giving Sunday on Sunday 20th October.
Harvest Collection
Sunday 6th October
This year we will be taking a collection of food items for Rugby foodbank.  Rugby foodbank work tirelessly to help feed the hungry in our town - please consider what you can give to this great cause.  Their top ten most needed items are:
  • UHT milk/dried milk
  • Tinned vegetables
  • Coffee/hot chocolate
  • Jam/marmalade
  • Tinned rice pudding/custard
  • Tinned fruit
  • Tinned potatoes/tomatoes
  • Tinned meat/fish
  • Pasta/rice (500g)
  • Long life fruit juice
Calling all 18-30’s at New Life Church! 
This new group is going to take place every last Saturday of each month. Hosted by Adrian, Corinne, Jeremy and Louise, it is a chance for this age group to meet together and have some fun and fellowship. First session will be held on October Saturday 26th - watch this space for more details
Baby Shower
Sunday 27th October 3.30pm @ New Life Church

This is a warm invite for the women (including teenagers) to gather on Sunday the 27th October at 3.30pm -4.30pm at church in the Main Hall to pray for Carla and the Muldoon family as they prepare for the imminent arrival of baby Muldoon.

We do hope as many people as possible can make this event. Cakes and drinks will be provided so please sign up to indicate your attendance and dietary needs for catering purposes.  We will be having a collection of money to give to the family as a gift.  Feel free to give these donations in advance to either Hannah Scotland or Betty Scotland.

Saturday 2nd November, 8.30am @ New Life Church

We will be having a women’s breakfast (teenagers welcome) on the 2nd November at church in the Main Hall 8.30-10am. It would be great to see as many people as possible.

Vision 2019

How can you get involved with #Vision2019 ?
 
PRAY
Pray for the plans, the purpose and the provision of our building project and it's impact on our community.
GIVE
With a budget of around £600,000 we need your generosity to partner with God's supernatural provision to see this project completed.  Click here for ways to give.

4Front Theatre - Beyond Bars
Sunday 13th October 6.30pm @ Bilton Evangelical Church

As part of Prisons Week, in partnership with 4Front Theatre, Rugby Revive Churches presents Beyond Bars, featuring a one hour performance that is being presented in prisons.

Featuring music, spoken word and rap, two prison stories, one ancient and one modern, interwined in a new play about forgiveness, hope and what it means to be free.
Rugby foodbank are looking for new warehouse facilities approximately 2500+ sq ft.  If you can help in their search, please contact info@rugby.foodbank.org.uk
