Charging the Regions Project Update

What's Happening with the Charging the Regions Project?

This month Ndevr have been working on finalising Component 1 and 2- engaging with stakeholders, investigating case studies and drafting the maps of existing, planned and potential charging points.

A draft list has been provided to CVGA and sent around to all participating Councils to check and advise of any missing Charging Stations. For the purposes of this project, Tesla charging stations have not been included in this list. If you have not done so already, please take a look at the email sent to you by Sandra to ensure that all current and planned EV charging stations are on the list.

Coming Up...
Webinar update: Invitations have been sent around to all participating Council contacts for a Webinar on Thursday 7 November at 11am. Ndevr will be presenting on completed Components 1: Maps and Component 2: Case Studies. If you have not received an invitation, please let Sandra know. You are more than welcome to forward the invitation to others within your Council who may be interested.

If you are unable to attend, don't worry the webinar will be recorded.

What's Next?
Ndevr will be working on Component 3: Investment and implementation next. This will cover:-

  • Estimated costs for purchase and installation of the charge stations
  • Options to stimulate private investment
  • Options for a coordinated maintenance and user interface platform
  • Economic modelling of costs and future revenue models for each participating council, including the flow-on benefits to local economies
  • The role of councils, commercial and other partners regarding methods of finance and responsibilities for installation, maintenance and smart technology options
