Countdown to the 1st TAFISA World Martial Arts Festival in Ulyanovsk in Russia!
Martial Arts and Sport for All - For a Better World
On 13-17 September 2019, the region of Ulyanovsk in Russia will host the 1st TAFISA World Martial Arts Festival. This new TAFISA event aims to share the values and benefits of martial arts and promote their historical and cultural significance to society. 
The Festival
will focus on cultural events, performances, demonstrations, an academic forum, clinics and master classes showcasing over 30 different martial arts from all over the world. It will also feature an international Forum inviting renowned speakers to highlight how martial arts can benefit society.

TAFISA and IOC Presidents Meet in Lausanne
TAFISA President Prof. Ju-Ho Chang and TAFISA Secretary General Wolfgang Baumann met with IOC President Dr Thomas Bach in Lausanne to discuss the current and future cooperation between TAFISA and the IOC. During their stay in Switzerland, the TAFISA delegation also met with GAISF Director Philippe Gueisbuhler and Membership Manager Davide Delfini to exchange on how to better involve International Federations in Sport for All. 
Facilitating an active world
The 26th IAKS Congress 2019 from 5 to 8 November in Cologne, Germany will explore inspiring approaches on planning, building and operation of sports and leisure facilities. Together with the FSB - the leading international trade fair for public space, sports and leisure facilities – it is the outstanding community sport and recreation knowledge-sharing event. Innovative thinking in its 26th edition.

The 26th IAKS Congress programme will focus on the challenges on how to build stronger active living infrastructure. More than 30 speakers, including TAFISA Secretary General Wolfgang Baumann, and experts from Canada, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Switzerland, the UK and the US will share their experiences on how to succeed in creating modern and appealing, financially and socially sustainable facilities. The varied 4-day-conference programme featuring 13 sessions promises a high-grade international exchange of experiences and exciting networking.

Frankfurt Mayor and Treasurer Receives TAFISA Friend for Life Award
TAFISA is honoured to announce that Frankfurt Mayor and Treasurer Uwe Becker was presented the TAFISA Friend for Life Award for his strong commitment to support TAFISA and promote Sport for All. He can be considered a key figure for the establishment of the TAFISA headquarters in Frankfurt through the moral and financial support of his city. TAFISA is proud to announce that the following organisations and cities have submitted bids to organise these future TAFISA Events: 

28th TAFISA World Congress 2023
  • German Olympic Sports Federation (DOSB) - Düsseldorf, Germany
  • Malaysian Sport For All Council (MASFA) - Kuching, Malaysia
  • Mauritius Sports Council - Port Louis, Mauritius
  • National Sports Council of Tanzania - Arusha, Tanzania
8th TAFISA World Sport for All Games 2024
  • Russian Olympic Committee - Nizhny Novgorod, Russia
2nd TAFISA European Sport for All Games 2022
  • Italian Traditional Sports and Games Federation (FIGeST) - Perugia, Italy
The host cities for each of these events will be elected during the TAFISA General Assembly on November 15th, 2019 in Tokyo, Japan.
Join the TAFISA World Walking Day!
The TAFISA World Walking Day (WWD) draws millions of people to streets, parks, paths and natural environments on the first weekend of October each year. This year the WWD will take place on October 5-6.
The WWD is open to citizens of all ages, backgrounds, abilities and genders, and can be hosted by every TAFISA member organisation and any interested municipality. Read More...
