We, along with our lovely Green Gym volunteers, were kindly invited to have an info stall at Newham General Hospital Community day. The weather was absolutely gorgeous! Many hospital departments were there including outside support agencies. The Plaistow Community Neighbourhood team, along with No excuses for fitness and the FIVEADAY Greengrocer with a great array of fruit, veg, jam's & smoothies were also in attendance.
West Ham football team came to visit the children's ward but there were plenty of 'big kids' happy to see them too!
My (Denny) personal favourite part of the day was meeting Dodger The Pet Therapy Dog ( & his owner of course!)
Big thanks to the wonderful staff at the hospital for the great work they do!
Green Gym volunteering in Plaistow every Thursday
Hopefully following the event we will have many hospital staff spending their lunch breaks with us at Green Gym Orchard. We are on the Greenway behind the hospital. We are there every Thursday 11-2. Join us for gardening (all abilities), friendship, laughter and a cuppa! More info here

Inspiring weekend at Big Local Connects '19
150 Big Local areas were invited to Nottingham for Big Local Connects '19 on 13/14th September.
What a great weekend it was, sharing ideas, learning & celebrating. Lovely to see our very own Joyce as a poster girl for the local trust. Even Matt Leach (CEO) decided a new hairdo was in order! A truly great time was had by all.
