Wawa coming to 273?
My office has received several calls concerning the new blue signage on 273 just east of University Plaza that says "Now Leasing" with a smaller sign saying "Join Wawa" and I wanted to provide you with the details I have at this time.
Several months ago a big yellow sign was put up on the parcel between University Plaza and Old Baltimore Pike. This sign is to alert residents to an active plan.
The property owners submitted a plan consistent with the property's current zoning. You can view the plan by clicking HERE
quick overview
1) This project is not a re-zoning,
2) This plan is a minor plan, It will not come to County Council for approval.
3) To be clear, this plan has not been approved by Land Use and the developer (per their attorney and as of right now) has not entered into a contract with Wawa however; both will most likely happen in the near future.
4) The developer will need to work out the final details with Land Use for the plan and DelDOT for the traffic.
