Dear CASA family,
As some of you know, Montgomery County has been recently targeted by the Trump Administration and Acting USCIS Director Ken Cuccinelli in an attempt to spread fear. They have used recent incidents to fabricate a web of lies to continue demonizing our community.
Both Trump and Cuccinelli have used twitter to lambast and incite attacks against Marc Elrich and council members for the implementation of the Community Trust Executive Order. The order has brought peace of mind to more than 30% of hardworking immigrants that live in one of Maryland's most diverse counties.
The order enables all residents, regardless of their immigration status, to feel safe, welcome and encourages them to access vital resources provided by the county to help working families prosper.
The attacks have made Elrich wonder if a second look should be taken to the EO. Let’s make sure the EO stays as is and that our members continue to live in a safe and welcoming county by sending support messages to Elrich and council members.
Please use the sample messages and feel free to edit according to your needs and to share with family and friends that live in MoCo. Additionally, we encourage you to call 311 and leave a supportive message.
