Fundraising with Papa Johns @ NASCAR

Serve some pizza at a NASCAR race!

Over the past four years the Godwin Band Boosters have developed a relationship with Papa Johns Pizza. We provide volunteers for their offsite events, and they in turn make a donation to the band boosters. We have earned over $10K through this partnership!

Papa Johns needs 10 MORE VOLUNTEERS for the September 21 NASCAR race. We need to give them the names this Tuesday so please sign up ASAP!
 
Details:

• Hours are from 1:30 - 10 PM.
• We need parent and student volunteers (age 13 & up).
• Free parking.
• Wear Godwin t-shirts, shorts/pants, closed toe shoes, long hair put up.
• Pick up your passes after school on September 20 in the band room.

Spirit Night @ Chipotle Oct 1

Enjoy yummy burritos, tacos and salads at  Chipotle (at Short Pump Mall) on October 1 between 5-9 PM. Mention Godwin Band Boosters and part of your purchase goes to our marching eagles!  You must TAKE THE FLYER (copies at school) or tell the cashier that you are part of the Godwin Band Booster fundraiser so we get a portion of the proceeds!

• Mattress sale fundraiser @ Godwin on December 14.
  Learn more at the November 4 band booster meeting. The mattress sales representative will donate $5 to the boosters for each person who attends, so don't miss this meeting!

Interested in Joining the Hospitality Committee This Year?

This year's Hospitality co-chairs (Susan Murphy and Kristin Berrier) are looking for additional help to execute events, including the Senior Night Dinner (11/8), the Winter Concert Reception (12/12), and the end-of-year banquet (early June). The events don't need a lot of planning, since they are the same every year, but committee members may be asked to help set up and clean up for events, pick up supplies, decorate, and order items. If you are interested, please reach out to Kristin Berrier at kristinberrier@gmail.com.

We'll also be asking throughout the year for donations of food (for example, desserts for the Winter Concert); these will come through sign ups sent to the entire band, so watch your email for those.

Mr. Auman Memorial Committee

The Godwin Band Boosters have formed a committee to explore options for honoring Mr. Auman.  He was the Band Director at Godwin for over 25 years before passing away in March.  The committee has nine members and is seeking suggestions on how to keep his memory alive.  Mrs. Auman is planning a memorial concert in November, tentatively, and the committee would like to be a part of that.  His family has also recommended starting a music scholarship in his name.  If you have any ideas, please submit them to the committee members or the committee chair, Patty McCarthy at treasurer.gbb@gmail.com. 

Save The Date!

Attention senior marching band parents: Mark your calendar for the annual Senior Dinner, which will be held November 8th, before the last home football game. Seniors, along with their parents or guardians, are invited to gather in the library at 5:30 pm for dinner. At halftime, the seniors, along with you, will be recognized.
