 MULTIPLE OOPS!

Oops!  For those of you who are ordering food this week, some items are not entered accurately on the menu.

* Prior to noon on Thursday, the Wild Rice & Roasted Squash Casserole was missing entirely.  If you already placed an order and would like that in addition, please place a 2nd order.  If you already ordered and want this entree instead of an item on your order, please send me an email and let me know.

* The burritos are not entered accurately.  All 3 burrito choices (chicken, beef/pork, and vegetarian) are available dairy free and/or gluten free as a casserole.  Please write your preferences in the "Notes" section under the entrees if you'd like any of these options.  If you've already ordered and would like one of these options, please send me an email.

* Quiche!  We're offering a vegetarian option (no bacon), NOT a dairy free option!!  Please send me an email if you've already ordered and would like the vegetarian option.  Please write your preference in the Notes section if you haven't already ordered and would like the vegetarian option.

So sorry for the confusion!  Wedding catering is happening and apparently I'm a bit distracted.  Wow, let's hope I don't do this again!!

And as long as you're reading this....I forgot to mention that this is the last week of this cycle.  Next delivery day will be Oct. 8.

Reply this email if you would like any clarification.  Thank you!!

Our Tea & Scones in the Garden on Sunday was truly magical.  Paradise.  A fairy tale.  Amy and I have been pondering the success of our event.  The day was everything we had hoped for.  Glorious sunshine; a gentle, cool breeze; dogs romping; kids roaming; and or course butterflies, caterpillars, bees, and beautiful plants.  Wing and A Prayer Nursery was alive with curiosity, delight & pleasure.  Many stayed for hours, enjoying quiet connection.

But here's where we ponder.  We have many of those elements every weekend during Amy's nursery hours.  And we get customers every weekend, but not dozens upon dozens.  Was it the sale prices?  They're certainly an enticement, but Amy's regular prices are normally very low.  Here's what we think....food opens the door.

Food opens the door.  What is it about food and drink, abundantly and generously offered, that switches people's response to our invitations from "sounds like a good idea, but I'm too busy" to "yep, definitely going there this weekend"?  My food is good, certainly, but not THAT good to go the extra mile and show up here at Honey Hill Homestead.

What are we hungry for?  For real experiences instead of virtual, electronic ones?  Do we want to slow down and connect....with each other, the plants, the insects; do we want to have a reason to sit and watch the clouds, listen to the bird songs, and notice the beauty?  What is it that allows us to take those moments to feel the warm sunshine and cool breeze on our faces, that allows us to watch the monarchs on the New York Ironweed for a half hour and feel truly engaged?

There was no expectation that people would show up and spend money.  There was a crazy hope that people would show up and connect and appreciate.  And wow did that happen.  Food opens the door.

We're still pondering, don't have the answers, but we surely are glad we invited people to the table (and gardens!) and that so many of you showed up to share the day with us.  We so love a full table!

Amy's Nursery, Wing & A Prayer Nursery is open for business on Sundays and Mondays, 9-3, or by appointment (call 413-634-5659 or email us).  Here is the current list of plants.  All of Amy's plants have been chosen for their usefulness to bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.  We hope you will stop in for a visit and to chat about how to improve your garden habitat for pollinators.  The bees and butterflies are out and about and magic is afoot!

Please visit our website at www.aliceskitchenathoneyhill.com.  It is a joy to provide delicious, nourishing, and beautiful foods, prepared with care and love, for our community.
