The long awaited Pennsylvania Redistricting Reform Commission Report came out the last week of August, calling for the creation of an independent citizen commission composed of 10 voting members chosen equally by legislative leaders of both parties and led by a governor-appointed non-voting chair. The report is not the end of the discussion. The redistricting process still falls under our PA lawmakers’ control. Two redistricting reform hearings are scheduled in Harrisburg this month and you can still get involved by:

Register new citizens to vote after their naturalization ceremony with the Pennsylvania Immigration and Citizenship Coalition at the USCIS office at 30 N. 41st Street. There are lots of upcoming Monday and Friday dates that need volunteers.
