So far, so good! Here's what's happening...

We’ve hit the ground running with reviving the museum both internally and externally. The various vines (English Ivy, Wisteria and some poisonous varieties that have left us slathered in anti-itch cream) that were completely covering the outer walls have been removed, and the entire building is being repainted.
Our grounds are being masterfully re-landscaped with the help of Louisville’s Master Gardener’s Club. The old stained, smelly carpets inside are being removed and the concrete floors beneath are being resurfaced.

Our exhibitions are being refreshed and renovated, and more are being added to create a new interactive experience for our friends and visitors. We have countless new programming ideas to engage the hearts and minds of our Portland community and yours. Overall, there’s a sense of vibrancy at our beloved Portland Museum, and we’re eager to share the experience with you once we reopen in October! (Don’t miss the sneak preview this September 28th at the Portland Art & Heritage Fair.)
There are nearly 500 nonprofits participating in Give for Good Louisville today (Thursday, September 12). We'd be really grateful if the Portland Museum is one you choose to support. The donation level set by Give for Good starts at $10. Every dollar you donate makes a big difference for our neighborhood museum. We know the value of a dollar and we work hard to be good stewards of your gift.
Thank you for your support this year and every year.
