We have so much to tell you!

But, before we get started - we'd like to remind you that today is Give for Good! Louisville's Day of Giving. Your gift would be greatly appreciated. You can donate by clicking the button.
Yes! I'd like to support the Museum!

First things first!
Say "hello" to our new executive co-directors!

Meet our new executive co-directors:  Ash Braunecker and Danny Seim
We are so pleased to introduce you to Ash Braunecker and Danny Seim, our new Executive Co-Directors of the Museum's programming and operations. They replace previous long-time Executive Director, Nathalie Andrews, who retired in December 2017.

Ash and Danny bring blended talents and expertise that are important for the growth and future of the Portland Museum as they share the leadership role for the Museum's programs and activities.Their knowledge, commitment, and combined synergies offer a strong combination of capabilities that would be hard to match with any single candidate. They complement each other with strengths in programming experience, community support, regional and national contacts, and operational expertise the Museum will need as we work to continually reflect Portland’s vibrancy and unique culture.

Both Ash and Danny are Portland residents which also provides them with a level of connectivity to the neighborhood.

You can read more about Danny and Ash here.

So far, so good! Here's what's happening...

We’ve hit the ground running with reviving the museum both internally and externally. The various vines (English Ivy, Wisteria and some poisonous varieties that have left us slathered in anti-itch cream) that were completely covering the outer walls have been removed, and the entire building is being repainted.

Our grounds are being masterfully re-landscaped with the help of Louisville’s Master Gardener’s Club. The old stained, smelly carpets inside are being removed and the concrete floors beneath are being resurfaced.
Our exhibitions are being refreshed and renovated, and more are being added to create a new interactive experience for our friends and visitors. We have countless new programming ideas to engage the hearts and minds of our Portland community and yours. Overall, there’s a sense of vibrancy at our beloved Portland Museum, and we’re eager to share the experience with you once we reopen in October! (Don’t miss the sneak preview this September 28th at the Portland Art & Heritage Fair.)

There are nearly 500 nonprofits participating in Give for Good Louisville today (Thursday, September 12). We'd be really grateful if the Portland Museum is one you choose to support. The donation level set by Give for Good starts at $10. Every dollar you donate makes a big difference for our neighborhood museum. We know the value of a dollar and we work hard to be good stewards of your gift.

Thank you for your support this year and every year.
