Dear ICOLPH School Families,

Well, we are definitely in the swing of the school year now. I know at least at my house the newness has worn off and we’re all sleeping a little too late and are a little more grumpy in the morning. 😊 But the students and staff are settling into the routine, getting down to business and there’s some great learning happening. We’ll begin MAP testing next week so please make sure your student is rested, eats a good breakfast, and arrives at school on time. Your student’s teacher will share their testing schedule with you so that you can try to make sure your student is ready.

I want to thank everyone who took the time to attend Curriculum Night last week. The teachers put a lot of time and energy into making sure that the evening is informative and it is great to begin the parent-teacher partnerships that will positively impact the students. Thank you too to all who signed up to volunteer with Sausage Fest, Auction and Parents’ Association!

Speaking of Sausage Fest, we are only 7 days away!! Yes, I can’t believe it either! So, if you have not signed up to volunteer, please go to https://volunteersignup.org/AECA7  to sign up yourself and maybe some family and friends too. And if you plan to purchase carnival rides, please PRE-PURCHASE them through the school. When you do so, ICOLPH gets the entire purchase price. When you buy them at the carnival, we get NONE of the monies. If you have friends that will be coming, please let them know that they too can pre-purchase their tickets through the school—just have them stop by the school office and we will hook them up.

I am on the peninsula for a Principals’ Retreat so I am out of the office for the rest of the week. While it’s always hard to be away, I am excited to experience another Christ in the Classroom retreat with my fellow Catholic school principals. This year, we will be focused on Liturgical Education and I’m excited to experience this retreat so that I can facilitate it for our staff on October 11th.

I hope you have a wonderful rest of the week and a great weekend!

Many blessings,
Kathy Wartelle, Principal
